Return to "Normal?"

First In-Person Quarter Back, Fall 2021

After 4 full online quarters and 1 end of quarter, we are back in person in full storm. As in, everything was back in-person and given the deceiving view of being "normal" when in reality the pandemic is still going strong. However, we are all double vaxxed and starting to get boosted, so we are doing what we can to keep ourselves safe (masks, distancing, etc.) while also returning to a new idea of normal.

For me, this meant moving back to Seattle. I was not excited about this whatsoever. I actually really enjoyed living at home during the past year and half. I learned to play golf, got home cooked meals, and generally got to be around people all the time. Not to mention my dog and dragon were with me. However, when I got back to Seattle and into a routine, I found new and old friends and activities to do in Seattle. The preapprehension that I faced has slowly disappeared into a new normal of studying during the week and (for the most part) going home for the weekend.

While it has been a quarter full COVID scares and running to classes, I am very, very happy with how it has gone.

Here are a few things new post-COVID year for me:

  • Matching your mask to your outfit is a thing?

  • I am now late for my morning class, which is a bad habit that I've started...

  • I really like online classes some of the time?

  • Walking time is hard to calculate...

Here are a few things to look forward to:

  • Shadowing! I am gearing up to apply to medical school in the spring

  • The nonprofit is running smoothly and had a good summer camp launch. We are launching year round activities in 2022

  • New golf clubs and an improving golf game

  • Graduation! Exciting and scary at the same time

It is hard to believe I only have two more quarters!
